Blankets

Blanket Form

"Catonsville" Blankets are sold throughout the year.  Before the winter holiday, order forms are distributed in the community through area schools and businesses.  Orders are filled as they are received as the school maintains stock in all the colors available.  Sales pick up again in the spring as the blankets make great Graduation gifts and Mother's Day gifts.  Help is needed with making copies of the order forms - as well as selling them at our school's concerts and play.

8th Grade
 Dance

Parents organize the end of the year dance for 8th graders.  The dance is usually held the first Friday in June, and this committee starts planning in February/March.  A Caribbean Night theme is carried over from year to year, which makes planning much easier for something held at such a busy time of year.  Many volunteers are needed the night of the dance to make it a success.

Hospitality

This committee coordinates our Ice Cream Social, refreshments during American Education Week, and Donuts for Dads held in early spring.  The Ice Cream Social is an  Open House held the week before school opens for incoming 6th graders and new students.  American Education Week held in November is for parents to visit the classrooms of their children and refreshments are provided in the library.  Donuts for Dads is a very well attended event held the week before our school play production inviting Dads, Granddads, big Brothers, and special friends to come early to school with students for donuts and coffee.

Market Day

Learn More

This food sale is held monthly and is quite successful at CMS.  Order forms are sent home once a month – and parents can either return the order form or order directly on-line.  Volunteers are needed to help each month on the distribution day.  There are certain items specially featured each month and the food is quite delicious!

Many volunteers are needed to make this fundraiser a success.  Planning starts in January and the actual sale is held in early spring.  Orders are prepaid and most are delivered in the Catonsville area.  Help is needed in getting flyers out into the community through area businesses, and schools as well as with a mailing to all previous customers.  Volunteers are needed on sale day to help with deliveries, as well as some cash and carry sales.

Volunteer
Coordinator

At the beginning of the school year – this volunteer sends home a check-off list of the various committees, asking for volunteers to serve on them.  They are distributed by the newsletter,  at the Ice Cream Social and on Back to School Night.  After they are collected, a list is made for each committee chair of interested volunteers.  It is a great asset to have when starting to organize an activity.
