The mission of Catonsville Middle School is "Success for All - Student Achievement through Daily Instruction." This means that every student should achieve significant learning every day in every class. We believe that all students can learn and are entitled to do so in a safe, orderly, and caring school. We believe that each child is unique, and that we have the responsibility to help all of them become lifelong learners and responsible, productive citizens who embody the values of our school, families, and communities. We also believe that all students should feel that they are an integral part of our community and that their diversity should be appreciated. Moreover, we believe that parents are integral partners in their children's education and personal development.

• CMS 2008-2009 Outstanding Teachers Include:
  • Mr. Al Billmyer was awarded the honor of VFW Secondary Educator of the Year.
  • Dr. Jennifer Coniglio was named as this year's recipient of the Maryland School Psychologists’ Association Outstanding Practice Award.
  • Mrs. Cecily Anderson has been selected as the BCPS Teacher of the Year. Baltimore County PTA named Mrs. Anderson as the PTSA Outstanding Secondary Educator of the Year.
  • Mrs. Angela Blatchley, Mr. Jason Eisenberg, and Mrs. Cecily Anderson will represent Catonsville Middle School as award nominees at the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce Awards at Martin’s West.
