Traffic Circle Update 5/28/2009

After reviewing the pedestrian study I decided to make a change to the proposed crosswalks. We will install a band of concrete across the street that will be raised with brick in the middle. This will make the crosswalk act like a mini speed hump. There also will be a crossing guard at the intersection.

I'm going to install new sidewalk and curbs on the north side just at the first home. I will then ask Highway design to look into finishing the sidewalks to Rockwell.

Construction should begin this July [2009].

Note: The new sidewalk refers to a new sidewalk on Old Frederick between Edmondson Avenue and Drummond Road. At the CMS public meeting, Mr. Link mentioned exploring extending the sidewalk to Rockwell.
